Women are human beings too.
When one newspaper broke the news 10,000 sex slaves in Israel, it astounded almost everyone the number being so low. Most people while walking home from work might encounter five or ten brothels not a word of Hebrew from any of them. The customers were mostly either young Arab men, or somewhat older construction workers from Eastern Europe. The women ranged in age from the late teens to 29, the customary retirement age. At the time there were 120 knesset members only four of whom having a sense of decency fair play and justice. Since nobody else in the government was willing to address the issue, reporters pursued the four for answers. The official line from the government was the girls were prostitutes in their home countries and had come to Israel for the job opportunities opened by the large influx of foreign laborers. Of course, that reasoning failed to explain why they were unpaid.
